Roman Renger

Dr. Roman Renger

Business Development Manager at Exciting Instruments

Roman  works closely with academic researchers to identify how single-molecule fluorescence methods can address challenging questions in structural biology and molecular biophysics. He holds a PhD in Physics from Technische Universität Dresden, where his research in single-molecule biophysics focused on protein-DNA interactions and biomolecular condensates. Roman combines first-hand research experience with a deep understanding of advanced biophysical techniques. He brings this scientific perspective to discussions with research groups, helping make powerful single-molecule methods more accessible, practical and relevant to their work.

Alexandre-Chenal VF

Dr. Alexandre Chenal

Group Leader, BiophysiCyaA at Institut Pasteur

Alexandre Chenal is a Group Leader at Institut Pasteur. He obtained his PhD from CEA Saclay and subsequently carried out postdoctoral research within the ILL–CEA–CNRS environment in Grenoble, before returning to CEA Saclay and later joining Institut Pasteur. His research combines biochemical and biophysical approaches to investigate protein folding, membrane interactions, and the molecular mechanisms underlying bacterial toxin translocation, with a particular focus on the adenylate cyclase toxin CyaA from Bordetella pertussis. He is also interested in bacterial toxin–antitoxin systems and their roles in the regulation of bacterial physiology and homeostasis.

Dr. Steven Quinn

Dr. Steven Quinn

Senior Lecturer at the University of York

Steven is a Senior Lecturer in Biophysics, and was awarded an Alzheimer’s Research UK Fellowship in 2019. His group uses microscopy techniques to interrogate the structure, dynamics and function of single biomolecules implicated in dementia. Dr Steven Quinn obtained an MPhys in Physics from the University of St. Andrews and an MSc in Radiation, Oncology and Biology from the University of Oxford. After completing his PhD and postdoctoral work at the University of Glasgow, he held a Lindemann Fellowship at MIT before being appointed Lecturer at the University of York in 2017.
